KEIRA KNIGHTLEY SMOKEY CAT EYE (INTERVIEW MAGAZINE) TUTORIAL - SUPER QUI...

Buongiorno Bellezze,

Buona giornata!

Bobbi Brown Corrector - a review

Hello my Lovelies,

here is something I wanted to talk about since I started using it: it is the Bobbi Brown Corrector, and mine is in the shade Light Peach. The little jar contains 1.4 g of products for 17£ and the description in the Bobbi Brown's website says:

"A wake-up call for tired eyes. Corrector is pink- or peach- based to neutralise under-eye darkness and is designed to be used before Creamy Concealer. New and improved formula is long-wearing and brightens dark circles with quick, just-right coverage that's easy to blend and won't crease. And since great makeup starts with healthy skin, Corrector is infused with skin conditioners to protect the delicate under-eye area."

I've just highlighted some of the words that, in my opinion, best describes this great product and since the first application, I was amazed by the creaminess and the hydrating effect it has. This is my first colour correcting product and I am 100% happy with my choice: I dab a small amount of product with the tip of my fingers and I can see the difference straight away: the peachy shade covers the purple/blue of my under eye area in a very natural way! As I have already said in my March favourite blog post, I also noticed that it was still there after a 14 hour flight.

I have been reading a book by Bobbi Brown lately and she talks about her concepts and ideas, mainly her aim to guide women to a style that enhance they own beauty with simple touches and to me this product contains all this: a sleek and compact jar with a light but rich cream inside that gives you coverage, brightness and moisturize the skin.

You just need to try to belive how good it is!

p.s. here you can see prints of my finger after dipping into the jar :-P

Enjoy!

Urban Decay Naked Palette

Hello my Lovelies,

after a week of been naked, it is time to share with you my thoughts. This is an amazing product and it has a very good selection of nudes all in one palette but I should say that, during this week I have been missing some of my all time time favorites: first of all my dear Vanity Palette by Wet'n'Wild, bought in the States a year ago for less then 5$ and secondly, my beloved Storm Palette by Sleek, which costed me less the 7£. These two palettes contain colours not as fancy as the one in the Naked and this is what I personally look for in the morning!

Wet'n'Wild - Vanity
Sleek -- Storm Palette

Anyway...
PROs:
all in one palette: highlights, all over the lid everyday colours, darker colours to intensity the look.
compact and handy packaging
good quality make up
good value for money - each pan contains1.3 gr of eyeshadow
perfect for travelling and/or when in a hurry
original choice of colours

CONs:
only 2 matte colours
missing green and blue shades
too many undertones and reflexes -- sometimes I just need a straight colour!!!

Here it is again, the iper-hyped, elegant, sleek, smooth, multitasking NAKED PALETTE:

P.S. this is my interpretation of the shades:
gunmetal -- in between light grey and light blue
creep -- in between dark grey and black
hustle -- purple with brown undertone
toasted -- old rose pink with light shimmer
half baked/smog/darkhorse -- great bronzy/goldy trio
sidecar -- unique light toupee pinky  brown with interesting glitters
buck -- brown with warm undertone
naked -- great matte all over the lid shade and perfect blending colour
virgin/sin -- great highliters or all over lid colour

My last and strictly personal comment is that if you buy it, I am sure you will like it;
if you don't, you are still going to survive!

Hello my Dears,

my naked marathon has come to an end and for the 7th look I tried to use as many colours as possible: this is to celebrate the smoothness and richness of these eyeshadows!

virgin: all over the lid
hustle and gunmetal: 2 parallel lines along the crease, well blended together
toasted: inner part of the eye
darkhorse/smog/half baked: along the lower lashline from the outer to the inner corner
sidecar: as highlighter along the brow bone

Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

get naked in 7 days -- day 6

Good morning Ladies,

Saturday, Saturday... this is the magic word! sleeping until late, nice long breakfast and some music!

Letizia, wake up... you have a million things to dooooooooo!

I don't know if it's the same for you, but I tend to wait until Saturday to do the most boring things ever... bank, post, food shopping... so I better hurry up!

Darkhorse: only one colour all over the lid and some turquoise pencil along the lower lashes... I love this colour because it really defines the eye without been too dark as long as it is worn only on the lid and well blended upwards.

p.s. this is perfect for blue eyes!

have a good day you all!!

The weekend is coming... Enjoy

get naked in 7 days -- day 4

Hello my Lovelies,
the weekend is coming so I went for something a little more intense today: this is my morning smoky eye and I kept all very soft and blended and not any further then the lid...

naked: blending colour on the crease
sin: in the inner corner of the eye and lightly on the brow bone.

get naked in 7 days -- day 1

Hello my lovelies,

I am sure everyone of you knows very well the Urban Decay Naked Palette, and probably owns the Naked 2 already... but I still would like to challenge myself for 7 days and post every day one look using ONLY a combination of colours featured in the palette. I said challenge first of all because I have many other eye shadows that I am loving and neglecting them for an entire week can be tough; also, in the morning, while I get ready to go to work I tend to use matte colours while the Urban Decay Naked Palette has only 2 mattes (Naked and Buck)!!!!

I will prove you that this palette is as versatile as pair of black trousers and you can still use it without looking shimmery as a disco ball!

SO, here is my MONDAY make up:

toasted: all over the lid, blended across the crease and all along the lower lash line,
hustle: in the outer corner of the eye, along the upper lash line and along the lower lash line to
half baked: in the centre of the eye lid.

Hope you like it!

Samantha e i pennelli Real Techniques

Samantha Chapman and Real Techniques in London

Hello my Dears,

I am so excited to share with you some picture of me at Boots in Oxford Street yesterday with the lovely Samantha Chapman from Pixiwoo, presenting her Real Technique brushes!!!

Yesterday, straight after work I took the train to London with my dear friend Carla to go and meet Sam who  was so kind organise this event in London and I actually had the chance to have a smoky eye done by her!

When I arrived at the store, around 6.30 there were a few people at the entrance all looking at one direction and guess who was there.. Sam talking to a young lady  with a beautiful display of all Real Technique Brushes collection. I have to admit that I was quite excited but my feelings didn't prevent my instinct from being proactive: as soon as I arrived I jumped to Sam's assistant to ask whether it was possible to have some makeup tips by Sam and within minutes I was sitting just in front of her!!!

First of all she looked at my face and said that MY MAKE UP WAS NICE, and then I asked her some tips to emphasize my eyes and this is when her professionalism started to stand out: she put me at ease complimenting my eyes, and with my great surprise she said that with my eye lid space I could do a lot! And think that I have always been thinking to have hooded eyes! Thank you Sam for the revelation!!

But this is not all... It was like talking to the doctor to explain your symptoms to have the cure: she spiced up my day make up, with expert touches, and, shading lighter to darker colours from the inner to the outer part of the eyes, she changed my look from a neutral day look to a smoky eye, ready for a night out. Then she lifted and elongated the shape applying some pencil along the lash line with a small angled brush to recreate the Sofia Loren' sort of eye makeup. Eyelash curler, Mascara and I was ready and happy!

Girls, I was honestly impressed by her manners and her way of  been kind and patient.

Thank you Sam!

Hope you enjoy!
Letizia

my rescue bag + some poetry

Hello my Friends,

I would like to share with you my tiny little secret, a small bag that I carry with me everywhere I go and that contains emergency products that can really make the difference before a last minute appointment or just for  a quick touch up!!

First of all I always take with me a lip balm and a lipstick: the first one to keep my lips looking hydrated and healthy and the other to give them some colour. For the lipstick, I tend to go for a colour  that can suit virtually any makeup and can be used also as a blusher on my check to give them a nice glow and give me a fresher look... at the moment my multi-tasking friend is Shy Girl by Mac, a lovely pink-peachy lipstick with a yummy vanilla flavor. Then I refresh my eyes with eye drops and give them some shape with a black eye pencil that I usually apply on the waterline smudging it outward, to lift up the eyes. But the hidden gem is Lemon Aid by Benefit that first of all has a tiny little mirror that allows me to do what I have just described without looking even worse, and secondly has a yellowish colour that helps to hide redness giving instant light to the brow bone and the inner corner of the eye... Sometimes I dab it gently onto my under eye area to brighten up my concealer or around my nose ... and I am ready for a nice aperitif with my dear colleagues!!

Last but not least the little bag... a tiny silky pochette that I bought in China a while ago, red with gold printing - so chic -... and this is not just a random printing, this is part of one of my favorite poem by Li Bai!!!

Here it is, poem and translation my dears.... Enjoy!

My 5 March favourites

Hello Ladies,

new month and new favourites! I limit myself to choose just 5 items and I try to include only products or tools that I actually used for more that 20 days and that impressed me!

Here are my FabFive:

OPS... wrong picture :-P

Let's try again...

From left: Clinique Anti Blemish solution, Bobbi Brown Corrector, Rimmel Blusher, Mac MSF, Real Technique Brush

That's better...

Clinique Anti-blemish Solution in Fresh Neutral 03: a very good product that helps mattyfing the skin without drying, it also improved the appearance of blemishes, check my blog post E' tutta una questione di basi.

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach: I bought this at Heathrow Airport while I was waiting for my flight and browsing around the duty free counters I spotted the Bobbi Brown one, I decided to put it to the test and try to camouflage my (very) dark circles. A miracle happened and the peachy colour transformed my eye area giving it new life! I also recommend this product to everyone who suffers for dryness because it is extremely moisturizing and I still could feel the benefits after a 12-hour flight!

Rimmel Blush in Peach: matte blush, easy to blend, good pigmentation and bought for just 1£... what can we ask more?

Mac MSF in Gold Deposit: Love it, love it, love it! I have been using it as eyeshadow, highlighter and to blend colours on the crease. I am sure I will make a good use of it for summer when my skin is darker. Bought at the airport for 16£, really good value for money!

Real Techniques Blush Brush: I saw this brush at Boots and I really wanted to give it a try because I love the Pixiwoo Sisters and I have been watching their videos for a long time. This is a great tool to have in my kit:  with the tip of the brush I apply the powder and with the bristles all around it I defuse and blend the colour in the most natural way (of course sometimes I go heavier with the blusher and still it blends perfectly!!). It really improved the way I apply the blush!!

hope you enjoyed it
