Everyday or simple holiday look

Good morning my Dears, 

I have been to Canterbury for the Jubilee bank holiday weekend and strangely enough I put in my beauty bag only a few items and I went for a natural make up that could be perfect for work too!

Scarf... I know... but this is the English summer!

When I am on holiday or just out for the day, I don't want to worry about touch-ups, lipstick moving around and shiny nose, so I tend to do a good base with Clinique Anti-Blemish Solution Foundation, 

Garnier Roll-on (here is my review link), Mac Studio Finish Concealer for around the nose and chin and a generous dust of powder. At the moment I am using up my Body Shop Mineral Powder (here is the link for my project 10 pan link) and I have to say that I am really enjoying it: it blends perfectly and doesn't look caky at all, it is also great for the under eye area to keep the concealer in place and add extra coverage.

Then for the eyes I always carry with me a multi-tasking palette, good for day and night: this is a Clinique Palette that I received for free a while ago when purchasing the foundation and has a shimmery champagne colour to use as highlighter and all over the lid, a darker warm brown with a pink undertone, great for the crease and lastly a dark reddish brown to use as eyeliner 

and along the lower lash line instead of the pencil, to define the eyes.

Of course I cannot go without mascara, this is the Maybelline Volum' and a coat of brow gel, this is the cheap and mighty Miss Sporty Clear Mascara that feels like nothing but works magic on my brows!

Lastly the pink corner: Maybelline Mineral Blusher (no.10) applied with my Real Techniques Blush Brush and the amazing Revlon Colour Burst lipgloss in Crystal Lilac on my lips. 

This look is simple, long lasting and make me feel confident throughout the day!

So, for the Bourjois foundation, I think that I repurchase it in the future, it has a nice smell and a medium coverage, it blend easily and it sets very quickly. I prefer to set it with powder otherwise it tends to leave my skin a bit shiny. Overall I would give it an 8.


L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara is one of my oldest friends, so I am sure I will repurchase it after I finish my Maybelline and Clinique mascaras. This product is perfect for all the ladies who want voluminous, thick lashes and love big brushes (not as big as the Benefit Bad Gal though!). This is the mascara I have been using for at least 5 years so this is a 10 for me!

Also my dears, the Clinique All About Eye concealer , Mac lipstick in Shy Girl and Rimmer Eyeliner in Ginger Tea

are going to be the next to leave me!

Leopard print makeup... grrrrrr...

Hello my Dears,

yesterday I was with my dear friend Lydia deciding the perfect look to go with her outfit for the Jay Z concert at the O2 Arena in London and I came out with this Leopard print eye look & soft pink lips!

Here are the simple steps:

1- I primed her lid with a concealer, all the lid up to the brow bone;
2- Using Elf Mineral Black Eye Liner I traced the shape of the eye shadow from the outer corner, half way across the lid, filling it all with the liner first and then blending with the black eye shadow from the Sleek Storm Palette.
3- Then I packed the gold eye shadow from the inner part of the eye up to the black, blending the 2 colours together.
4- Then with a pointed eyeliner brush I started tracing the "Cs" forming a flower kind of pattern in the centre of the lid.
5- I dabbed some of the H&M bronzy eyeshadow in the centre of each C to give them some depth.
6- I finished off with Rimmel Pink Blush Lipstick and contoured the cheeks with Elf Contouring Kit.

what's in my travel bag

Hello My Lovelies,

today I would like to share with some pictures of my makeup travel back... I am not even near an holiday but I took these pictures before going to Paris for a short weekend in Paris - here is the link of my shopping  there :-)). 

I will start saying that I have a few rules when I travel:

1- I take with me what I love the most... on holiday we need to spoil ourselves!

2- Before packing I think of the holiday I am going for and what can be essential and what is unnecessary.. for a beach holiday I am not going to need foundation or tons of eyeshadows... when I am tanned, I always keep it very simple! 

3- I always put my makeup bag into my handbag.. Otherwise I see myself staring impatient at the conveyor belt ...

And this is the bag I am using at the moment: it's big but compact, it has see-through compartments and can be left open and flat to fit better in the hand luggage...

Here you go! 

It really looks like a lot of makeup, I know, but I thought it was what I needed for a city break!

Face: Mac MSF in Medium and Medium Dark (now that I am quite pale I use the Medium all over the face and the Medium Dark as contouring shade), Mac MSF in Gold Deposit, Clinique Anti-Blemish Solution, Mac Studio Finish Concealer in NW25, Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach, Maybelline Cream Blush no. 2, Nars blush duo Desire/Amour.

Eyes: Nars eyeshadow duo in Kalahari, Mac Painterly Paint Pot, Mac eyeshadow in Yogurt, Club, Brown Down and Ochre, Pupa eyesahdow no. 200, Bourjois eye pencils in Brown and Black, Clinique Mascara.

Lips: MAc Lisptic in Shy Girl and Lady Bug, Revlon lisptick in Soft Rose, MUA lipgloss shade 4, Rimmel lip pencil in red dynamite.

Brushes: Real Tecniques, Elf, Mac and Shu Uemura eyelash curler.

Nails: China Glaze High Maintenance

p.s. random powder puff in the left corner... 

But what did I really used... tools excluded!

I went for a simple, bronzy look with red lips all the time and it was easy and elegant: no eye liner, glowy cheeks and matte complexion... just forgot to include mascara in the pic!

All in all I think that this can also be a perfect starter kit for somebody who would like to have good quality makeup for everyday looks... as you can see I am not very adventurous with eyeshadows and I always play it simple!

Project 10 Pan

Hello Everyone,

this morning I was taking some pictures for a new post on my travel bag and I was kind of shocked to see the amount of make up I have... and obviously I also realized that the one in the picture was just a small amount for a weekend away!

It is time to use something up before I even dare to go to Mac, Boots or anywhere else 

that sells makeup again!

This is my project 10 pans and no cheating, no mistakes, no weakness, no temptations 

are allowed!!

So all is in one bag now and I will be using these items every single day for the next few weeks... let's say months.. I will keep you posted for every progress I make in this mission!

Clinique Anti-blemish Solution in Fresh Neutral 03: a very good product that helps mattyfing the skin without drying, it also improved the appearance of blemishes, check my blog post E' tutta una questione di basi.

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach: I bought this at Heathrow Airport while I was waiting for my flight and browsing around the duty free counters I spotted the Bobbi Brown one, I decided to put it to the test and try to camouflage my (very) dark circles. A miracle happened and the peachy colour transformed my eye area giving it new life! I also recommend this product to everyone who suffers for dryness because it is extremely moisturizing and I still could feel the benefits after a 12-hour flight!

Rimmel Blush in Peach: matte blush, easy to blend, good pigmentation and bought for just 1£... what can we ask more?

Mac MSF in Gold Deposit: Love it, love it, love it! I have been using it as eyeshadow, highlighter and to blend colours on the crease. I am sure I will make a good use of it for summer when my skin is darker. Bought at the airport for 16£, really good value for money!

Real Techniques Blush Brush: I saw this brush at Boots and I really wanted to give it a try because I love the Pixiwoo Sisters and I have been watching their videos for a long time. This is a great tool to have in my kit:  with the tip of the brush I apply the powder and with the bristles all around it I defuse and blend the colour in the most natural way (of course sometimes I go heavier with the blusher and still it blends perfectly!!). It really improved the way I apply the blush!!

ClioMakeup Docet!

Buongiorno Ragazze,

 questa mattina ho riprodotto in versione blu/turchese il bellissimo trucco proposto dalla dolce ClioMakeup  nel video Trucco Esaltata.

 Ho iniziato con Painterly di Mac su tutta la palpebra e un leggero velo di cipria per fissare la base cremosa. Ho poi aggiunto l'ombretto numero 3 di Kiko nella piega dell’occhio per dare un po' di profondità, cercando di sfumare verso l’esterno con il pennello 217 di Mac per allungare l'occhio. Ho proseguito tracciando una linea lungo la rima inferiore dell'occhio con la matita Rimmel, in modo da dare all'ombretto una base alla quale aderire. A questo punto ho iniziato a sfumare la matita con gli ombretti, utilizzando il turchese di Bourjois nell'angolo interno e nell'angolo esterno e poi ho concentrato un miscuglio di Plumage di Mac e del blu/viola di Sleek nella zona centrale, proprio nella zona sotto l'iride. Nell’angolo esterno dell'arcata sopraccigliare ho illuminato con il colore beige sempre dalla palettina di Sleek. Infine ho "condito" il tutto con un po' di mascara nero, applicandone una dose abbondante sulle ciglia superiori e un tocco alle ciglia inferiori, nella zona dell’ombretto più scuro…e questo è il risultato!!

Il look è molto carino e semplice da fare, ma nello stesso tempo d'effetto, sicuramente da provare! Vi consiglio di utilizzare un colore che complementi perfettamente il colore dei vostri occhi per un effetto ancora più accattivante. Per gli occhi nocciola penserei a un verde Oliva/pistacchio per far risaltare le sfumature chiare dell'iride e per gli occhi azzurri la combinazione viola/lilla per far risaltare ancora di più il blu!
