August's favs - I preferiti di agosto

Buongiorno Bellezze,

today is the 1st of September so it means that it's time for my montly favourites and here you are...

Boots Brush (many other brands do similar brushes, BodyShop for sure): this is an amazing tool to use on dry skin to do some good exfoliation, especially on legs, arms and back. It really is relaxing and good for blood circulation/water retention aka cellulite! 

Elf Blush in Peachy Keen: nice glowy blusher that I actually use very often as an eyeshadow.

Benefit Creaseless Cream e/s in RVSP: I bought this e/s an year ago and it still goes strong, creamy and perfect on its own or as a base for a shimmery eyeshadow.

Mac e/s in Down Brown: great matte cool brown that I use as eyeliner to intensify the root of the lashes

Collection 2000 concealer: very good concealer that I buff with a stippling brush into the skin on my most problematic areas and it covers brilliantly! 

Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara: one of my most worn mascaras, no smudge, well separated lashes and it stays on all day!

Oggi è primo settembre e questo significa che è il momento di mostrarvi i miei preferiti di agosto...

Boots Brush (molte altre marche hanno un prodotto simile, come ad esempio BodyShop): questo è un aggeggio fenomenale per fare un po' di sano scrub per la pelle del corpo, specialmente per le gambe, le braccia e la schiena. Il massaggio è anche molto rilassante e favorisce la circolazione sanguigna ed è un sano rimedio contro la ritenzione idrica, che mi sembra si chiami anche cellulite, no? hihihi.

Elf Blush in Peachy Keen: blush della linea studio, molto luminoso e credo perfetto per le ragazze dalla carnagione molto chiara.. questo mese l'ho usato quasi tutti i giorni come ombretto..

Benefit Creaseless Cream e/s in RVSP: ho comprato questo ombretto in crema un anno fa e ancora si comporta bene.. è cremoso e perfetto da solo o come base per un ombretto shimmer.

Mac e/s in Down Brown: ombretto marrone opaco con sottotono freddo, l'ho usato principalmente ben sfumato alla radice delle ciglia.

Collection 2000 concealer: un correttore perfetto per le piccole imperfezioni del viso, buona coprenza e buona durata.. l'ho usato al posto del fondotinta nelle zone più "bisognose" del mio viso, ben sfumato con lo stippling brush di Real Techniques

Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara: uno dei miei mascara preferiti, ciglia ben separate e rimane perfetto per tutto il giorno!

project 10 pan -- the end of a story

Buongiorno!

here I am to share with you my last update on the project 10 pan

I have to say that it is tough but interesting to stick to a few products and be determined to finish them before buying something of the same category.. and I can say that I clumsily made it!

(for many people this is normal, I know..)

Here is the picture of the last items I steadily used and as you can see I finished the blusher (Uff that was difficult), 2 more mascaras (Maybelline Colossal - good for volume - and Soap&Glory - found in a magazine but I really is not my favourite whereas I love Soap&Glory skincare range!), my completely rubbed off Collection 2000 concealer (great for quality and price), my amazing Mac Primer for the lashes and Pixi Flawless and Poreless primer (very very good)... 

BUT... I decided to take it slow with my Mac Studio Finish concealer and my Viva Glam Lipstick for the simple reason that I am going on holiday soon and I know that the concealer will be the perfect shade for when I will be tanned and the lipstick... guys sorry for being so cheesy but it reminds so much of my wedding  that I don't really want to rush and finish it when I know that I want to buy it again!

diciamo che è stato interessante utilizzare gli stessi prodotti per un lungo periodo di tempo (ovviamente è quello che fa la stragrande maggioranza delle persone, lo so..) e soprattutto è importante finire i prodotti liquidi e cremosi che sono quelli più soggetti a "contaminazioni" (quante volte applichiamo il correttore sul brufoletto e poi con lo stesso dito preleviamo altro prodotto dal contenitore per continuare il processo da un'altra parte???) .. alla lista dei 10 prescelti ho aggiunto qualcosa in più... meglio dire sostituito...

Qunidi: ho terminato il Blush minerale della Maybelline (questa è stata dura... non finiva mai!!!!), i mascara Maybelline Colossal (ottimo per dare volume alle ciglia) e Soap&Glory (ho trovato questo mascara in una rivista e sinceramente non ci spenderei 10£... personalmente preferisco i prodotti di skincare di questa marca), il Prime per le ciglia di Mac (fantastico), il correttore Collection 2000 (buono e super economico-un po' troppo asciutto per la zona contorno occhi ma perfetto per il resto del viso) e il primer viso Pixi (ottimo).

La sostituzione è stata più che altro una presa di coscienza.. perché sbrigarmi a finire il correttore Studio Finish di Mac quando poi a fine settembre andrò al mare ad abbronzarmi e dovrò andarne a comprare un altro perché l’NW25 è proprio quello che mi serve??.. e lo stesso vale per il rossetto Viva Glam che mi ricorda tanto il mio matrimonio...

Ragarre, 

ve lo consiglio vivamente.. scegliete 10 prodotti, metteteli in una pochette e iniziateli ad utilizzare tutti i santi giorni... 

p.s. ora scappo a fare un po' di shopping....

My Wedding Makeup Look

Hello my Dears,

today I was looking at my wedding pictures so I thought it was a good idea to share with you some of them and write something about my make-up look for that day! 

We got married last year in April and we were so lucky to choose the last sunny and warm day of 2011 here in the UK!

 Let's go back to business... First of all I would like to say that I decided to do my own make up because I wanted something to feel confident with all day (it sound like a pantyliners advert hihihihihi) and have the possibility to chose the colours and textures that I knew would suit me better!

I started with some researches online and nowadays you can find plenty of tutorials and information about bridal looks so it is just a matter of taking notes, try, test and experiment new things!

My suggestion is to plan ahead and test everything you want to use at least a week before the wedding day and, when you are happy with your choice, just do your make you 2-3 times before the big day to get the right confidence and see how it wears throughout the day... you can also take a few pictures and see by yourself  how it shows when the flash hits you face... And this is exactly what I did!

Let's make a start then!

 The most important thing is the base and the way the face is concealed, contoured and highlighted!


First of all, I started with a face primer and I chose Pixi Flawless and Poreless: I applied a thin layer in the centre of my face and where my open pores are to smooth everything out, then the foundation only where I needed (especially the centre of my face and chin) bending down the neck to have an even colour. Last but not least, I applied some concealer under my eyes, dabbing it lightly with my fingers and paying attention to smooth it properly and don't let it set in the lines... also known as wrinkles... 
To set everything in place I dusted some Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Natural especially where I get shinier... I love this powder because it has a very natural finish and the natural 
glowiness of the skin shows through! 
In my opinion it is important to allow 5 to 10 minutes between each step because it means that your skin has the time to absorb each product and it guarantees a better staying power!


To contour my face I added a tiny bit of bronzer and for my eyes, Elf  eyeprimer to keep my 
eyeshadow in place!
I also used the Mac Prep+Prime Eyelash Primer and my beloved Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara: this is a great combo to achieve long, thick and well separated lashes! The primer is enriched with fibres that provide longer and fuller lashes while the Mascara wand is great to keep them separated.

And now the eyes....

I wanted to combine the colours that, I think, suits me better and so I chose to wear a light lilacky colour all over the lid blended in the crease with a dark reddish brown. I then lined my eyes with a dark purple, blending a tiny little bit of the same colour in the outer corner of the eye to add a hint of depth. 
For the lower lash line I mixed the dark brown used in the crease and a lighter, more coppery shade 
to add some warmth to the look (both by Body Shop). 

I loved the combination of these eyeshadows and it really complemented my green eyes and made them pop without being too intrusive or strong.

And then the final touches...

For my cheeks I chose Fleur Power by Mac, a rosy/peachy blush with no shimmer, a tiny bit of highlighter on the cheek bone and brow bone and the perfect nude lipstick for my lips, Mac Viva Glam II that it's not only a great lipstick, but it also has a divine vanilla flavour!
